Dreams come true and miracles do happen when you truly believe in yourself. But when self-belief is a miss, nothing substantial happens. The same I experienced in my life. And when I started believing in myself, tables turned, and many limiting beliefs were shattered. Though the journey was not easy, yet it was not impossible. It is rightly said every big journey, begins with small steps. How my journey began and what I discovered about myself, I would like to share with you through these write-ups of mine. My intent behind writing them is to share a profound message with the entire world that accepts who you are and least expect what you cannot be.
I had a passion for writing since childhood but never gave any serious thought to it. Time flew fast and life came in a full circle, with every juncture and junction bringing new meanings and new lessons. Life is an exemplary book that teaches you the best lessons provided you are ready to listen and learn. For me, life was full of surprises and sudden shocks which I had never anticipated and dreamt of. But the reality is, whether you agree or disagree, like or dislike, accept or don’t accept, life goes on.
After doing my doctorate, nothing concrete was happening on the work front and stress was mounting manifold. I started looking for something exciting and thereby ventured into many new avenues. Nothing worked because success does not come that easily. It requires a lot of hard work, patience, and perseverance. And moreover, success tests you before you taste it. Things were not moving, and I started losing my self-confidence and self-esteem.
Suddenly, I came across a wonderful book, ‘The Power of Your Subconscious Mind’ by Dr. Joseph Murphy, which changed my entire perception about life and made me realize how wrong I was in my thinking patterns, lifestyle, and habits. It helped me to correct my thought pattern and look deep into the nuances of life.
I started believing in the power of the subconscious mind and thereby directing it towards optimism and positivism. Life gives you choices and what you choose becomes your destiny. Choose to believe that something good can happen and is happening now. Choose happiness and abundance over distress and dejection. The choices lie with you and nobody else. You must choose your own battles and win at the end of the day. I know these may sound jargon to you, but this is the supreme reality of my life. I do not shy away in saying that I was harbouring very negative thoughts and narrow opinion about life, but this book opened new vistas of life in my life. I started seeing life the way it is supposed to be seen. New hues, new meanings, and new openings started appearing in my life where I could see myself creating, and constructing a new me, and thereby contributing to this beautiful world.
Things started happening the way, I had hoped and prayed for. ‘Ask and it is a given’ became a profound reality in my life. I started doing what I loved, and the universe also started conspiring the same way. My penchant for writing surfaced again and I started writing small quotes just for the sake of love for writing.
While penning them down, I had never anticipated that they would get such a good response and appreciation from different quarters. That boosted my morale and elevated my spirits. Then, over the period, I created my blog ‘Conscience Connect’ and started writing articles. I felt emotionally liberated and spiritually elevated while writing those experiences of my life. Rejuvenation, resurgence, and revival of my soul and spirit started happening. Dots started connecting and I kept on moving slowly and steadily with my own rhythm and pace. Many milestones happened and things started looking promising and prosperous.
One day, I got a call from Captain Sahana, the founder of the Sparking biz. She asked me to write for her platform and my wonderful journey with her began. My first article for spark got published in their book ‘Delete, Log off and Shut down Corruption’ and it was launched by none other than Dr. Kiran Bedi and Ms. Priya Dutt in Puducherry and Mumbai respectively. It was a turning point in my life. Then one day, my husband suddenly posed a challenge to me. He asked me if I could write a series of 108 quotes daily without a break. I accepted the challenge and proved myself wrong that I could not do it. It came as a big surprise to me. I completed the series and it infused new energy into my being. I started gaining more confidence in my writing skills. My foray into the writing world proved fruitful and blissful.
I was writing for myself and for others too. Then came the beautiful moment of my life when Spark launched its four books in a gala event at Mumbai. In three of the books titled, ‘labyrinth of relationships’, ‘A melange of outpourings’, ‘Code, uncode your psy-key’, I contributed through my write-ups. I am truly indebted to Captain Sahana for her consistent and constant appreciation and encouragement of my work. I feel truly blessed to be part of Spark’s writing community which has been instrumental in my growth as a writer and human being.
Through this small write-up of mine, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude and sincere thanks to dear Captain Sahana for providing a beautiful platform for the budding authors and writers. My association with Spark has indeed played a very significant role in shaping my journey as a writer, blogger, and editor. Spark brought Spark in my life and many beautiful things started unfolding which I would be sharing with you in my next write-up. Life blesses you when you start believing in self and being blessed is what we aspire for.
